Police were shocked after finding a workshop full of stolen luxury cars, including a Mercedes worth over $100,000.
Officers discovered the stock of luxury cars in an illegal warehouse on Avenue Close in Birmingham, England, on Monday, December 23rd.
West Midlands police tracked the location after a lead related to a car theft earlier in the month. Inside the workshop, officers found a Mercedes M4, a VW Golf, and an Audi that were undergoing identity alteration processes.
Eight men were arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle theft, and two were also arrested on suspicion of burglary. All were released on bail while investigations continue.
“We raided an industrial unit on Avenue Close in Nechells shortly after 3 p.m. yesterday after receiving information that a stolen car from a car key theft in Staffordshire earlier this month was there,” the police said in a statement.
“Inside, we arrested eight people and seized a Mercedes M4 stolen in Staffordshire, a VW Golf with false plates that had been stolen in Dudley, and an Audi, which will be examined to see if it was stolen.”
“Eight men were arrested for motor vehicle theft, and two of them were arrested for burglary. All were released on bail while further investigations are carried out,” they added.
